We touchdown in Bangalore, India.
About 7:30 this morning we landed in Bangalore, India. My earlier concerns about getting through Bombay were unfounded. We did not need to collect luggage there and go through customs. Instead we simply had to change planes and continue on. It was in Bangalore, our last hop, where we were required to collect our bags and go through customs. It didn’t take us too long, then we walked outside the terminal and were met by my husband’s family.
The family had a vehicle rented which we loaded into and headed to Hindupur. Hindupur is a very small village in southern Andhra Pradesh state where my husband’s younger sister and her family live.
As we traveled from Bangalore to Hindupur it soon became obvious we were getting into rural India. It was great! We share the bumpy, pot-holed road with goats being herded to the field, farm trucks and tractors, vehicles being repaired including one having an engine pulled using the huge overhead tree (directly over the road) as a hoist. You name and it was there.
