Our failed solar cooking experiment.
I’ve been wanting to try solar cooking using the parabolic reflector method. I should have taken more time to get it right. We ended up using a reflecting car shade, like what is spread across the front windshield of a car. I wrapped it in a parabolic shape the best I could but really it was not done well at all. We used a black cooking pot and were trying to cook rice. It sat there all day and didn’t cook. Obviously it is very important to focus the heat directly at the pot and I think that is where we failed. We will have to try this again.
