Money management taught at garage sales.
Saturday, June 24th, 2006The kids and I hit garage sales today. It is out favorite way to spend a Saturday morning. I give each of the kids one dollar to spend however they wish. One dollar at garage sales stretches quit a lot and they often are able to drag home more than I wish they could. J But I figure it is good money management experience. Each week they think carefully how to spend their dollar. They pay for their own purchases and learn to count change. They don’t always spend the entire dollar and learn to save. They learn if they save enough dollars they are in luck when something more expensive comes along which they would like to purchase.
